Role in the project
The role of INNOV in the project is to develop a trustworthy digital mechanism (the SecureFood information exchange platform) for advancing the communication among food actors. This platform will not only serve as a means for sharing knowledge and good practices on food security, but will also allow food actors to report data on commodities stocks with a structured and systematized way.
The platform will use blockchain technology whereby a Proof-Of-Authority (PoA) scheme is used that allows only the authorized nodes to exchange data; this way trusted relationships among food actors and authorities are established, and the integrity, accountability and confidentiality of the shared data is ensured.
INNOV is also leading standardization efforts with an end goal of securing the potential of SecureFood results to contribute to consistency and uniformity on food security aspects.
