On 27 November 2025, the University of Padova hosted the fourth edition of the DNV Business Assurance Italy Srl Award in memory of Vittore Marangon, an event celebrating the best engineering degree theses dedicated to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
As part of the programme, the DNV Research and Development in Sustainable Food Systems team was invited to present ongoing research initiatives.

Among these, the SecureFood project, in which DNV is a partner, was selected for presentation. The overview introduced the project’s main goals, which focus on developing new tools, methodologies and strategies to strengthen food safety and enhance the resilience of European food systems. Particular attention was given to how SecureFood works to identify emerging risks, improve preparedness, and support decision-making along the entire food value chain.
The presentation also highlighted the project’s collaborative approach, bringing together expertise from research institutions, industry partners and public bodies. By combining scientific research, technological innovation and cross-sector cooperation, SecureFood aims to address current and future challenges and contribute to a more sustainable, transparent and secure food system for consumers and stakeholders alike.
DNV’s participation in the event provided an important opportunity to disseminate the project’s progress and reinforce the value of collaboration between academia, industry, and research initiatives.
